Update on my L'Oreal Colour Trophy Finals journey

Beginning of this month the results were announced & hairdressers around the country heard their fates when reading the list of finalists on the Colour Trophy website. After being instantly elated when I received a phone call from my screaming mother as she informed me that I have made through to the next round of the competition (regional finals) I have had a few set backs this last couple of weeks.

The first 2 weeks since seeing the salon name on L'oreals website as a finalist I spent every night reading fashion blogs from London Fashion Week to looking at colours for AW14/15 and even bought a training dolls head to practice my look between doing it on my model in the week. I had decided my look early on and as the 9th April came closer i was getting more confident that the look i was going for was the right one to give me a chance to progress, but last week all this preparation was  undone by my model telling me he couldn't make the date of the finals now due to other commitments. With only 1 week left for me till the finals I had no model and no chance of finding someone who fit the criteria for the look I had created so as you could imagine it felt almost a thankless task for me and making it any further felt impossible.

So this week a friend of mine offered his services to model for me on wednesday (9th April) and after ruling out very quickly that my original look I had in mind for the finals wouldn't work on him i have been scouting, researching and deliberating my options for the hair my new model has. I have decided on a Plan B look that I think will work and maybe give me a chance to get to the Grand Finals in London.

Even this wasn't the end of the bad luck for me though, on Sunday night (6th April) my brittle bones kicked in again and I now have a broken leg to contend with and 2 hour trips to Sheffield for treatment as well as Trafford centre shopping for the model's outfit.  I can officially say this has been extremely difficult, but the finals are here, my crutches are polished off and the models hair is ready so now all I have to do is impress the judges in a room full of talented hairdressers.

I'll do a post this weekend with pics and videos from the Colour Trophy finals in Manchester and let you know how it all went.

Thanks very much for reading
